A new facility in Plymouth for adults with complex needs and learning disabilities is one step closer to becoming a reality, thanks to £12.8m of investment from Plymouth City Council.
The facility, which will be based on the site of a former Council depot on Outland Road, will offer both a day service and respite care, with seven en-suite bedrooms, seven self-contained flats and accommodation for support staff.
A wide range of communal spaces will be available to customers, including activity rooms, dining facilities, a quiet room, a TV lounge and a sensory room.
I know this facility will make a big difference for lots of people in our city. I am pleased that a contract to build the facility has been awarded following a Plymouth City Council decision this week.
The facility is due to open during summer 2026
