I am sure we are all united in our collective disappointment at the developments in Gaza over this past week.
So let me be very clear. The reported casualties resulting from Israel’s actions this week are appalling. We do not want to see a return to fighting, it is in no one’s interest.
Humanitarian aid should never be used as a political tool. Israel must restart the flow of aid immediately.
We are calling for the release of all hostages and for Israel to lift the aid restrictions and restore the supply of humanitarian assistance that the people of Gaza so desperately need.
Peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians lays down the path of a proper and respected ceasefire, releasing the hostages, restoring humanitarian aid, and ultimately a two-state solution.
