I have crossed over the Tamar on the Torpoint ferry thousands of times over the years, but this weekend I got a behind the scenes tour of exactly how these brilliant bits of engineering work. Anna Gelderd MP and I met with the marine engineers who keep the ferries running all year round and learned more about the operation that shifts tens of thousands of cars across the Tamar each week. Myself, Anna and Fred Thomas MP have been working together to deliver cheaper tolls for local people that use both crossings, we are stepping in the right direction but there is still more to do.
