December 1st is World Aids Day, where people across the globe come together to remember those we have lost as well as commit to ending HIV transmission.
In a series of statements yesterday Luke Pollar MP said:
Today is #WorldAidsDay2021 – It’s a chance for us to remember all those we have lost to HIV & AIDS and recommit ourselves to the global task of eradicating & eliminating AIDS from all of our communities.
60 people per week are still being diagnosed with HIV. We are a country with all the tools to end transmissions by 2030. Let’s expand testing, end stigma and deliver a comprehensive HIV action plan. If you don’t know your HIV status – get a test.
We have an incredible opportunity to end new HIV transmissions by 2030.
